I was talking with a few of the veteran coaches that have been around forever today about getting bigger boost come roll-over for our players. They said don't worry about doing to much cardio and weight lifting. According to them running 2 sets of cardio for the O and then another 2 sets for the D is good enough for as far a cardio goes. One guys says he does the same with weights and then another said he never does weights unless he just has the extra sessions after everyone has ran through their practices for the day.

i was told to focus more on just running plays as it will give us a better bump at roll-over because it helps out more with all the skill attributes those players need to become better at their positions.

i would like to try it out and see if that works. let me know what you guys think.....

yeah, i thought we all would see a bigger jump then what we did end up getting in our coaching bars. I was really disappointed they didn't go up more then what they did.

OK sounds good. I took care of the two lifting and two cardio sessions for the offense and defense today. That was quite the offensive onslaught that the offense put on Michigan in the scrimmage.

yeah, I couldn't believe he couldn't stop anything at all. Not that I did much better letting him score 40 something. lol

hey guys, i've been doing this and wanted to know what you thought about it. so instead of practicing a fullback, i just switch him with another rb. for example, i'll practice both dobson and lynch at rb/fb, so both can get the practice bonuses. should i keep doing that?

that's fine, I really don't use the FB at all so we don't really need any great progression from them.

Also on that note try and get in the 2 ATH's in some practices. Garner at RB and the other looks like he could be a solid OLB according to my evals. Not sure what you guys have him rated highest at....

you don't use the fb in the wishbone, I form, pro, Shot-max, or goalline? Not that it really matters

I do but, he is more of a blocking back. The FB might get only one or 2 carries the whole year.

I thought Howler was talking about putting in a rb at at fb position.

he was but, only in during practices that way we practice 2 RB's instead of just one.

Or that is the way i took it. Now i am confused. lol

hey DS, don't worry about using any hours towards weightlifting. Just focus on running plays so we get get a better boost on skill set attributes.

i don't know if you guys have noticed, but keep practicing hans green and john lightner. both are being redshirted this year but they're both already at 74-75 by my evals and both have solid speed.

This next season i am going to come up with a training chart for us. if we just run drills we will be able to do more of them getting us in our 30 practices everyday and still have hours left over for us do get our recruiting done.

The basics of how it will work is we will all run 7 drill a piece and then rotate who picks up the 2 cardio on a rotating basis( I may have WRStephen do this until his bars develop a little more). that should leave everyone with about 30 hors or so to still go out and recruit.

I will assign players to each person that way we are not only developing our starters but, getting our backups ready to take over those starting positions when their time comes where we will not have much of a fall off in skill hopefully.

sounds good. but aren't regular practices better at training than drills?

The drill will target a specific attribute they get built up in such as fighting blocks, pass accuracy, and so on to where regular practices just do a random attribute upgrade.

We will still do regualr practices as well since they have no drill to really build up breaking tackle, elusiveness and all of the for WR's and RB's.

I may break it down to where we run like 2 normal practices and then the drills one time a piece (4 toatal) that way we are hitting all areas and saving hours to recruit.

i will be going through the next few days to see how many I can get what combination of each works out to leave us with at least 30 hours while still getting in about 20 practices total.

Ok, here is what we will try out for next season.

run 4 regular practices from I-formation.
run 1 cardio/weights

This would still leave about 30 hours to go out and recruit.

Also i will run extra weights and cardio with the 15 extra hours I get from my EC or use them to recruit. Which ever we are needing more so at that time in the season.

On the cardio/weights i will just list who does which.
i will also list which players each of us will practice that way we are getting in all of our players through 4 practices a day. i think that should be plenty to help them all improve.

The other option to that would be just for us all to practice the same guys which would give that group 16 practices for the day. Giving them a bigger bump come the end of the season but, leaving the backups for the next season a bit behind.

Or I could divide it up to where we just practice next years starters and next years backups giving them both 8 practices a piece.

let me know what you guys think on which we should do. I am kind of leaning towards the last option right now because there is a max they can build up for one day. I think 8 practices should be plenty for them to be built up even though I know they get random points each time out. we all have a high enough development bar that we can get 5,4, or 3 points on a guy in a single practice and if the cut off is 10 then running that guy through that many practices should get him close in 2 or 3 of those attributes.

i was thinking... let's redshirt all of our freshmen from now on. we've built up a pretty good talent base, and that way we'll get 4 much better years from them if we spend a season building them up before they play
